The Story Behind Our Logo

Our cute little mascot is inspired by an Egyptian Plover bird, also known as the “crocodile bird.” This species lives along the Nile River in Africa, where there is also a large population of crocodiles. The Egyptian Plover is a carnivore and gets part of its nutrition by cleaning and eating the left over debris on crocodiles’ teeth! The crocodiles also benefit from this relationship because it leaves their teeth nice and clean!

She graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2016 with a Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Prior to that, she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

Holly has worked with children of all ages in daycares, schools, in the home, but mostly in outpatient and private clinics throughout the southwest Houston area. She found her love for speech sound disorders after completing extensive coursework with Dr. Edythe Strand for childhood apraxia of speech. However, it wasn’t until her daughter was born and diagnosed with a tongue tie, lip tie, and orofacial myofunctional disorder that she began her journey towards becoming a specialist. She has since found the missing link that has enabled her to efficiently and effectively treat her patients with speech sound disorders and more.

She is now the proud owner of Atwell Therapeutics where she sees patients privately. Her primary goal is to educate parents and professionals about child development and airway health. She provides more than just speech therapy. She takes a holistic approach to ensure that her patients are breathing well, sleeping well, and eating well.
